Three more people have been killed in the eastern Pacific, in a fresh U.S. strike on a small vessel the regime insists, as it always insists, was a drug boat. There were no survivors. At least 202 people have now been killed in the murder campaign at sea since September.
SOUTHCOM ran the same script it always runs, a “known narco-trafficking route,” “narco-terrorists,” a “lethal kinetic strike.” No evidence was produced, as no evidence has ever been produced. No vessel struck in this campaign has been shown to have carried a gram of anything.
In the absence of evidence, these killings are unlawful under both U.S. and international law. Should evidence ever appear, they remain unlawful under both. There is no version of this in which blowing up a boat and the men aboard it, without warning, without arrest, without trial, becomes a lawful act.
Our own investigation found the same thing on every strike where information existed; fishing vessels, fishing crews, fishing routes.
202 people have now been killed by the serial killers in Washington D.C. The campaign shows no signs of stopping, and nor should we expect it to.
