One-Sided Gaza Ceasefire Faces Further Strain As Israel Carpet Bombs Gaza Again
Daily Israeli violations turn to carpet bombing for the third week in a row, as media continually fails to hold Israel accountable

The so-called ceasefire in Gaza has once again faced extreme Israeli violations, as carpet bombing began overnight again in Gaza for the third week in a row. After weeks of daily Israeli violations met with silence in the English-speaking press, Israel launched yet another large-scale assault on the Gaza Strip late Sunday night and early Monday Morning, its third full bombing campaign since the truce was declared earlier this month.
Israel informed the USA of its plan to resume attacks before unleashing air-strikes, drone fire, and artillery barrages across Gaza City, Deir al-Balah, and Rafah. According to reports, the USA are not convinced by Israel’s story that Hamas had broken the ceasefire, however, within minutes of the notification, multiple residential areas, including those surrounding al-Shifa Medical Complex, came under bombardment
.
No independent verification exists for the repeated Israeli claims of Hamas ceasefire violations, however, plently of evidence exists for the daily pattern of Israeli ceasefire violations. Western outlets continue to describe the truce as “fragile” or “at risk,” but the reality seems to be that it is non-existent.
Throughout these 24 days, it has been clear that Israel has a free pass to kill as many Palestinians as they want, with over 100 people murdered throughout this “ceasefire.” We do not have a death toll yet for last nights attacks, several have been reported by WAFA, but no number has been given at the time of writing.
We’ve gathered the series of attacks on Gaza from the latest Israeli bombardment, all information has been taken from Al Jazeera Arabic’s live Gaza coverage.
21:19 — Israel notified Washington of plans for a new assault on Gaza.
21:10 — Air-strikes hit western Gaza City and the Zaytoun district.
20:59 — A drone strike targeted the area near al-Shifa Medical Complex.
20:54 — Additional air-strikes on Gaza City and around al-Shifa.
20:51 — The body of an Israeli captive discovered in Nuseirat Camp, followed by intensified bombardment.
20:48 — The Israeli army officially declared the start of its offensive, ending any pretense of a ceasefire.
20:46 — Heavy artillery shelling east of Deir al-Balah and across Gaza City.
Evening: Strikes also reported in Rafah, with continuous shelling and gunfire in Zaytoun.
This latest assault exposes the reality that the “ceasefire” exists only in name, and was only ever supposed to be a ceasefire for Palestinian groups in Gaza, not Israel. The world needs to take action to stop this ongoing slaughter, but instead, Israel has been given blanket approval for carpet bombing at will.
