When Israel agreed to a ceasefire in early October, the world was told that the violence would stop. But in Gaza, Israel’s genocide has simply slowed down, meanwhile tanks continued to fire, drones kept circling, and aid convoys remained trapped at the border. We tracked ceasefire breaches through Arabic media outlets and human rights groups, and recorded 17 separate clear violations. Meanwhile, the Gaza Centre for Human Rights say they have documented thirty-six separate Israeli violations of the ceasefire between October 8 and 15, 2025, however, they have not detailed these breaches.
The important thing to note about a breach of the ceasefire, is that it may not necessarily be violent, but simply needs to be in breach of the terms agreed. This is a fact well known by the international media and Israeli officials, as they attempt to say Hamas’ failure to find enough of the Israeli dead inside Gaza constitutes a breach. However, the fact remains that Hamas have been open about the difficulties in finding these bodies, and every party, including Israel have offered their help in finding them.
There can be a discussion about if Hamas broke the ceasefire agreement, one that should immediately be ended once those discussing mention the fact that the Red Cross have analysed the facts, and came to the conclusion that Hamas are telling the truth, the bodies are more difficult to recover than Israel would like to admit.
For Israel, the ceasefire required three simple things: no military action, free passage for humanitarian aid, and the reopening of Rafah. Israel violated all three. In the first days alone, warplanes entered Gaza’s skies while aid trucks sat waiting in Egypt, by the time drones fired on civilians in Shujaiya, it was clear that the ceasefire existed to Israel on paper alone. Arabic-language reports from Al Jazeera, Al Mayadeen, Quds Press, and Safa News traced the breaches one by one. The World’s media seems unwilling to address these breaches, which is why we have had to rely so heavily on reporting from Arabic speaking sources, with exceptions being made for outlets like the Guardian, who have a great track record for honesty in their reporting on events in the Strip.
Every shell, every drone strike, and every truck turned away from Rafah added up to a single conclusion, Israel does not feel like it applies to them. Gaza’s residents were told they were safe, then targeted again. The so-called truce was nothing more than a pause for Israel to regroup, reframe, and continue its campaign on a smaller scale.
Confirmed Israeli Ceasefire Breaches in Gaza (Oct 8–15, 2025)
(Sources used: Al Jazeera Arabic, Al Mayadeen, Quds Press, Safa News)
Oct 9: Israeli fighter jets entered Gaza airspace after the ceasefire was declared.
Oct 10–13: Only 173 of 1,800 aid trucks allowed entry, blocking food and fuel.
Oct 10–13: Israel refused to reopen Rafah Crossing despite ceasefire terms.
Oct 14: Israeli drones fired on civilians in Shujaiya and Al-Tuffah, killing five.
Oct 14: Drone strike in Al-Fukhari, Khan Yunis, killed one civilian and injured several.
Oct 14: Israeli troops opened fire on civilians in Jabalia.
Oct 14: Tanks and armored vehicles fired near Rafah residential areas.
Oct 14: Drones hovered low over Rafah firing warning rounds.
Oct 14: Rafah Crossing closed and aid reduced over “hostage body” demands.
Oct 15: Artillery shells hit Shujaiya again, killing two civilians.
Oct 15: Tanks fired on Bani Suheila and Sheikh Nasser, Khan Yunis.
Oct 15: Helicopter gunfire over northeast Gaza.
Oct 15: Drone bombing east of Deir al-Balah injured several.
Oct 15: Israeli troops arrested 15 civilians in Al-Nasser, Rafah.
Oct 15: Nine civilians arrested in Al-Fukhari, Khan Yunis.
Oct 15: Gunfire and shelling along northern Gaza perimeter.
Oct 15: Rafah Crossing remained sealed through most of the day.
As noted, the Gaza Centre for human rights have tallied thirty-six breaches, these thirty-six breaches also include multiple repeated failures to deliver food and medicine, as reported by Quds. It doesn’t look like Israel ever intended to uphold the ceasefire. By choking aid and keeping Rafah closed, Israel continues their campaign ofcollective punishment, despite the truce being praised in the media.
Arabic coerage of these events stands in sharp contrast to Western media, where the word “fragile” is repeatedly pointed at Hamas, rather than Israel who are repeatedly failing to uphold their end of the deal. Yet the evidence is clear, the ceasefire was shattered by the same hand that signed it, and the people of Gaza were once again left to live under a lie.

I've been paying attention but I'm not a journalist.
Before the cease fire during one of Netanyahu's press conferences, he said his destruction of Gaza had to continue until every Palestinian was dead. If even one survived they would grow up and become an enemy of Israel.
