Hakeem Jeffries calls for congress to investigate Trump’s health concerns
Health concerns surrounding Donald Trump are the talk of the town on social media, less so in the traditional media outlets. Over recent weeks, visible bruising on Trump’s hands, reports of significant swelling in his lower legs, and confirmation that he is taking a daily high-dose aspirin regimen have raised serious questions about his physical condition.
Doctors have acknowledged that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a common but serious circulatory issue in older adults that can cause pooling of blood, swelling, and easy bruising. While the White House insists routine scans and check-ups show no acute problems, Trump’s age, visible symptoms, and repeated public insistence that he is in “perfect health” have only intensified scrutiny rather, as has the revelation that he has had an MRI recently.
Today House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries formally called for a congressional investigation into the president’s health disclosures. Jeffries argues that the issue is not partisan, pointing to Congress’s responsibility to ensure transparency when it comes to the fitness of a sitting president. He has criticized the clear selective disclosure from the White House and said lawmakers should not be expected to simply take reassurances at face value. Public debate continues to grow louder around Trump’s physical stamina, medication use, and cognitive ability, however, the media are still yet to treat Trump’s health with the same energy they offered for Biden’s age.
CBS continues to collapse under Bari Weiss
CBS News is facing even more criticism after cutting off a guest while they were talking about the dangers of Trump’s focus on immigration using authoritarian tactics. Viewers watched as the guest was interrupted and the segment abruptly moved on before they could finish making their point, a decision CBS has since claimed to be a timing issue.
There is a massive crisis of confidence at CBS at the moment, which has been in visible decline since Bari Weiss took over its news division. Her arrival was has coincided with staff departures, program cancellations, and a clear shift towards pro-regime propaganda. This comes just weeks after CBS’s 60 Minutes show prevented an episode on the CECOT concentration camp, a decision that led us to host the video on our ICE List website.
There is a deep problem facing legacy media, as so many are falling to the demands of the Trump regime. CBS is no longer an outlet that we feel we could trust for independant reporting here at Crust News, a fact that wasn’t true before the arrival of Bari Weiss.
Ukrainian intelligence warns of potential false flags
Ukraine’s own intelligence services have now publicly warned that Moscow may be preparing a major false-flag operation designed to kill civilians and blame Ukraine in an effort to shift international opinion. Kyiv’s Foreign Intelligence Service says it has detected what it calls a comprehensive Kremlin special operation, moving beyond disinformation and into the realm of armed provocation with “significant human casualties.” Ukrainian officials believe the timing could coincide with Orthodox Christmas celebrations, around January 6 and 7, and might even target a religious or symbolic site to amplify emotional impact.
Israeli minister says war with Syria is inevitable
Israel’s Minister for Diaspora Affairs, Amichai Chikli, publicly declared that war with Syria has “become inevitable,” a tensions continue to ramp up along the long-contested Israeli-Syrian frontier after years of cross-border violence and incursions by Israeli forces.
Chikli’s comment came in response to footage of Syrian troops chanting slogans in support of Palestinian resistance, but the simple fact is, Israel has carried out repeated airstrikes, raids, and patrols inside southern Syria, including checkpoints and live fire on civilians near the Quneitra disengagement line, as part of an expanded military presence there since late 2024.
The government in Damascus insists such actions violate international law, which they do. This rhetoric of an impending war, along with rising violence within Syria, threatens to steal what little normality Syrians have earned back one year after ousting their brutal former dictator Bashar Al-Asad.
FBI claims to have foiled a terror attack
US authorities say they have foiled a planned terrorist attack intended to take place on New Year’s Eve, arresting an 18-year-old man in North Carolina before any violence occurred. According to the FBI and federal prosecutors, the suspect was inspired by the so-called Islamic State and had drafted a plan involving knife and blunt-force attacks on a grocery store and nearby fast-food restaurant. Police say weapons were recovered and that the individual had been under observation for some time prior to the arrest.
As with many recent domestic terrorism cases, however, the details released so far rely almost entirely on FBI characterisations of intent, planning, and threat level. The most previous claimed intervention coming with shaky evidence in tow.
While any credible threat to civilians must be taken seriously, the absence of corroborating evidence beyond law enforcement statements means these claims should be treated with caution, particularly at a time when federal agencies are increasingly used as propagand pieces for an authoritarian regime.
Tesla loses title as world’s biggest electronic vehicle maker
Now for some good news to end the day, Elon Musk’s Tesla has officially lost its crown as the world’s biggest electric vehicle manufacturer after years at the top, with Chinese rival BYD now outselling it in global EV deliveries. In 2025 Tesla delivered about 1.64 million electric vehicles, a decline of roughly 9 % from the previous year, while BYD’s sales surged to about 2.25–2.26 million vehicles, giving the Chinese automaker a clear lead in pure battery EV sales.
The car company have increaasingly faced boycotts, due to their fascist owner, with sales entirely collapsing in some regions in the year following the infamous Nazi salute performed by Elon Musk in January 2025.
